Shhh, we are live and haven’t told anyone yet...till now! Our 3 months of trials have ended, and we are thankful for the partnerships that have helped improve and supercharge Regit to production. It’s been a month of rebirth and slam-dunks. Here are some highlights of our very eventful month:
Tech in Asia
Out of 100+ applicants, we were among the best 7 startups selected to pitch on the arena stage - the first time Regit was introduced to a large audience of 2000+ attendees. Our founder, Cindy Nguyen braved the big stage for the very first time and you could say it was smoothly executed, as we had some big name institutions and their CEOs emailing Regit for a meeting. Negotiations are still in the works for the impressions we made at TIA, but our footprint was made and set an unprecedented path for what’s to come next…
The Journey Bootcamp
A testament to Regit being industry agnostic, our founder Cindy got invited to participate in a global bootcamp, where she travelled 11871 km to Lisbon, Portugal for R&D and spoke to 7 different brands to understand their needs and expectations of pilot programs. It was a journey that proved the growing need to eliminate the form, from hotel bookings to loyalty programs businesses struggle to keep their customer data clean. It was from these very discussions, we found our mojo - we are the forever customer platform. How? We help businesses create the continuous link to their end-users when a digital handshake is established, of course more to it than this as our current customers know. Feel free to reach out to us email@example.com to find out more :)
She Loves Tech Singapore
As an organisation celebrating women in tech, it was only natural that with Cindy as our founder and Regit’s reputation as a strong up-and-coming startup, we got selected for the Singapore round of She Loves Tech 2017. It was a 5-minute pitch contest against 11 other startups, with notable industry expert judges from companies such as Facebook grilling everyone with tough questions after our pitches. While we did not win, the judges provided us with valuable feedback on our platform, and all of the participants had a good time networking and learning from one another that night. Most importantly, we all celebrated the prowess of women in tech that night! Who says tech is only for men?
E27 Echelon Asia Summit 2017
Regit was selected as one of the best 100 startups in Asia to exhibit and pitch our idea at Echelon Asia Summit 2017, a large 2-day convention featuring some of the best Asian startup, tech, and investment platforms. There were lots of investors and visitors from all over the world who showed great interest in the Regit platform at our booth, and industry experts conducted talks and workshops throughout the 2 days which were highly insightful. Top that with a post-event networking party at 1 Altitude (with free drinks!), Echelon was a fruitful convention, with many businesses and VCs who kept in touch with us the day after it was over.
We knocked-out 6 other startups to win a ticket to Rise and represented Singapore. That’s right, based on live fan votes - we won the opportunity to exhibit and pitch our idea on the Breakthrough stage. This exclusive privilege allowed us to present Regit to more than 14,000 attendees at Rise and what a shining showcase for Regit. Our founder met key industry influencers from InvestHK, Cyberport, HSBC, to the alluded angel investors, to prominent family offices in Hong Kong. The city welcomed startups from around the world with open arms, some conversations only needed to be 5 minutes while others were as long as 45. Either way - feedback and excitement lures and massive follow-ups to happen in the next few days. Woohoo!

Your 'Forever Customer' enabler,
Imagine a not too distant future where form filling - registrations, sign ups, even emergency information - will be a thing of the past. This might be hard to envisage in the current age of information sharing, as we stray further and further away from the control we have over our own information. To see this future come to fruition, we need to first be able to gain full control of our personal information, and figure out a way to share and exchange information in a hassle-free, seamless, and simple way.
Introducing Regit; a smart, convenient, integrated communications platform that connects businesses and individuals, simplifying information exchange to just one click. No more filling up of forms every now and then, and most importantly, you as a user, have full control of your information. Before going into the simple magic behind Regit, let’s take a look at the core of the problems currently plaguing us all.
We are in the era of digital tech and security, where our personal information has taken the modern form of a key; gaining access to any network requires some sort of information sharing for record-keeping or identification purposes. The basic details of what makes us who we are, has become paramount in connecting us to the different entities that we deal with in our lives - banks, healthcare providers, insurance companies, employers, etc. To be a student of an institution, fill up a form. To be a member of an organisation, fill up a form. To register for an event, fill up a form. How many times have you had to divulge personal information such as your address or contact details to someone or an organisation repetitively over the past few months? The simple act of sharing, updating or editing personal information to individuals or organisations across various accounts have become painstakingly troublesome. As much as we don't want to, we have to, and we dread this. This is known as information burden, and information burden leads to a bigger problem, dirty data.
An existing and crucial problem that has been incurring significant losses in money and time for professional bodies such as business and associations is dirty data - data that is incorrect, incomplete, and outdated. Organisations are plagued by dirty data because of the way contact information is collected and maintained; through forms, telephone calls, emails, and other self-service methods. These methods are very manual, fragmented, and inconvenient to the end user, which creates dirty data. If you have been unable to reach your members because they have changed their contact data, or have sent out thousands of mailers and invites to your events, only to receive a few responses, then yes, you are indeed a victim of dirty data. Having good data isn’t just good for business from a costs perspective, but it can be critical in case of an emergency. Take a look at the infographic below to understand more on the causes and consequences of dirty data:
Apart from lost revenue opportunities and wasted resources, dirty data can bring about another problem that many organisations in Singapore are increasingly facing; increasing regulatory risks of not complying with the Personal Data Protection Act.
Just earlier this year on two separate cases, the PDPC has fined two major organisations in Singapore. In April, India-based Tech Mahindra was fined $10,000 for failing to protect the personal details of 2.78 million Singtel customers from unauthorised changes, which inadvertently caused the personal data of one customer to be leaked online. Earlier on in January, PropNex Realty was fined $10,000 after it inadvertently caused the personal data of 1,765 people to be leaked online. It is the second time the real estate industry has been in the news in the last three years over data privacy issues.
The threat of regulatory compliance infringement is real, and these fines are incurring organisations all over the world unnecessary losses.
The Solution - Regit

Now imagine, you shift to a new home or change certain information such as new employment; instead of having to call, email or personally update various organisations such as your bank, insurance company, association membership etc repetitively, you just have to update the changes on your Regit account and instantly, all the organisations you’ve “handshaked” with will receive the updates in real time. You save time by only updating your information on one place, and your connected businesses and individuals save time by not even doing anything!
So you’ve bought a new home and have been working for a year at your new company, and it’s the time of the year where your hard-earned bonus lets you plan for a nice vacation with your friends. All of you are on Regit, and before the trip you delegate emergency contacts among one another to access vital information such as blood type or any known allergies. Should anything happen in the event of an emergency and your unfortunate friend is rendered unconscious, you can save a life by accessing his information and providing it to the doctor with just a click of a button. No more frantic phone calls back home, and precious time is saved.
Or maybe you’re at work one day, and your son or daughter needs information from you such as your NRIC number or work details. Instead of needing to call you or send text messages back and forth, one click is all it takes on his/her Regit mobile app.
